WIN-RIVER 150 SHASTA SPEEDWAY, Oct. 4,5,6th
Michael and the team struggled all weekend to get there car to handle the tricky 1/3 mile at Shasta Speedway. The team had
adjusted themselves out of the running to qualify a disappointing 37th out of an outstanding car count of 53 cars.
Whit the full invert, Michael started last in the second B-heat, going from 10th to 5th place Saturday night. Knowing the
passing would be hard for Sundays B-main the team was disappointed but still focused to make the show. With the help
from John at Penny Racing the team wasn't really able to increase there times much but the car would turn low and hold the
track.
On Sunday they started the 40 lap B-main in 15th position out of 23 cars. Hopeful to get a transfer spot (top four) to get into
the 150, Michael was on a rampage to get there and by the 29th lap he had taken over the lead and went on to win the B-
main.
When the Win-River 150 started, Michael and the team were in the 21st starting position. The 150 lapper was filled with
accidents and spins (every one wanting to win from the start). Michael had noticed around lap 45 that the voltage gauge was
starting to drop. Able to avoid the accidents Michael had moved up to the 3rd position by lap 95, on lap 110 the officials had
call a red on the back stretch to allow all the cars to fuel up. When the race restarted the team felt they had a shot at second
or the win due to the sun going down, the car started to hook up more while most of the other cars were tighten up.
Unfortunately the battery went away with 33 laps to go. Michael had to pull off the track, unable to make the change in time
the team ended up finishing 11th overall.
It just shows the determination and commitment of the team that they can prevail over hard times and come back.
The team is ready for next year to challange for the SRL Wild West Championship and to win the Win-River 150

SRL TOUR 100 Lap SEASON FINAL
Stockton 99 Speedway, 1/4 Mile
Going into the final race of the season the team was pumped up from their 4th place finish at Altamont on the 21st.
They were look for a good run and that the car would come home intact to be ready for the Anderson Open.
The guys worked hard on the car hoping to improve there times from the last Stockton race, timing in at 14.671=10th.
The team was fourth out to qualify and Michael timed in at an outstanding 14.140, having to wait through the rest of
timing they were hoping for a top five but when qualifing was over Michael and the team had set Fast Time.
Unfortunately fast time draws the invert which was four starting Michael on the outside row.
Michael was able to hold onto four for about 30 laps but the car started to tighten up with the cold weather, Michael would
go on to finish in the sixth position that night with the car intact, moving the team to 8th in the Final Point Standings.
Michael would like to THANK his crew for all the hard work and hour they devoted to make this a successful season
(couldn't do it with out them/there awsome), to the sponsors for all there help and anyone else who took part in part in this
awsome season.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!

SRL TOUR 100 Laps
Altamont Raceway Park, 1/2 Mile (7th race)
Since the third race of the season the team has held onto 10th in the standings. With the competition being so fierce they
have only been able to qualify around 14th to 16th. They still haven't got the setup for the tracks but this changed at
Altamont. Crew chief Frank Billy came up with a totaly different setup. During the practice sessions the car felt like it
would hold the track. "Unfortunately missing the drivers meeting ment they would start in the back regardless of their the
times
. And wouldn't you know it Michael went out 8th to qualify a posted 3rd fastest until the last cars of Rick Ruzbarsky
and Jeff Anthony posted faster times making Michael 5th fastest. (18.675) With the draw of 6 inversion that put Michael
on the outside of the pole but when they left the grid he had to pull out of line and take over last place (20th). The night
was a crash fest but they were able to avoid damage (two spin outs and one right rear flat)and come home with 8th place.
This has now put the team 8th in the points and 2nd in the Rookie battle.
The team worked so hard and kept focused they were AWSOME!
Thanks: Frank (Chief), John (Dad), Rich (Chassis), Rob (Tires/Jack) and Chris (Tires/Spotter).

SRL TOUR 100 Laps
The third race of the season was held back at Stockton 99 Speedway.
There was another 23 car turn out, but with all the cars qualifying within less then 1 second, they were still able to set
14th fastest. With that Michael and the team were moving up slowly and around the 15th lap a car got into the back of
Michael out of turn four spining him around. With the leader David Phillpot right on his tail Michael shifted into high
gear and pulled away, within 7 laps he had caught the next car and keep on catching cars and passing them to move
up to 8th place by lap 35. Michael was able to avoid most of the crash fest that night until the end were he ran into a
large crash tearing up the front of the car, still on the lead lap Michael was able to go into the pits under a caution to
remove the whole front of the car and resume his position and go on to finish with another 6th place finish. That make
two top 10s in a row. That now puts the team in 9th overall and just behind the two other top Rookies.
Michael would like to thank his sponsors and his
CREW for busting their butts in the heat of the moment.

The second race was held at Madera Speedway.
With a turn out of 23 cars the team was able to set 10th fastest. The night was a fairly clean race with few cautions.
With saving the car and tires Micheal was able to finish with a 6th place finish.
Moving up from 16th in the points to 11th and thrid in the Rookie standings.
AWESOME JOB GUYS!
APRIL 7th 2002
SRL TOUR 100 Laps
First race of the season was at Stockton 99 Speedway (Madera race was a rain out).
The competition in the SRL series is more then anticipated. Out of all the cars, each of them are top quality. The times
set by the cars are only off by less then one second from first to last.
Michael and the team didn't have the set up right for qualifying but were still able to turn 16th (last transfer spot).
With making some last minute changes to the car they were able to get it hooked up for the main.
Starting 16th they were able to move up to 9th by lap 37 but with all the crazyness the ended up in the back three
time but made it into the top 10 each time until the power steering line broke. They ended up 16th.
Michael would like to THANK the crew for busting their BUTTS!!!!!!!!!
AWESOME JOB GUYS!
